Watershed Media Project: A hundred short films about water
These short movies explain complex concepts about water succinctly. Science questions are often answered by breaking the big questions down into smaller ones. Water is a huge topic. Instead of trying to say it all in one film or series, we are saying a little at a time. It's bite-sized science, history, and more.
The style is varied, and strives for the unexpected visually, while remaining scientifically rigorous. Material for these short films consists of original footage, original animation, stock footage, aerials, satellite imagery, visualizations, archival footage, public domain imagery and other acquired footage. Scripts are carefully written, and reviewed by a team of science advisors. Topics are chosen for their seeming simplicity, and sometimes are phrased as a question often leading, like most science, to more questions. The movies are posted here to be freely viewed, used, and learned from.
